Shadow the Hedgehog
His origin is a laboratory, he was created simply as an experiment by Dr Robotnik.Shadow the Hedgehog was created artificially, yet he resembles Sonic in many ways. He is actually the rival of Sonic the Hedgehog, and quickly became the 2nd most popular character from the Sonic Games. For this reason his own games started coming out. It kind of reminds me of Spiderman and Venom. In many ways Shadow the hedgehog is the anti-hero.
In the story, he was created by Professor Robotnik over 50 years ago. He is much like the dark version of Sonic, a little on edge, a little more wild and risky. He is willing to do anything. He was created a rebel. Everyone knows all this stuff, but did you know he is both ageless and beyond death? He is immortal and If he can get his hands on the chaos emeralds, he can shift into super shadow (much like super sonic) and become virtually invincible.
He also appears in the animated series we talk about, known as Sonic X. He is only featured for a brief stint at the beginning of season 2. Throughout the show he makes short appearances, but nothing much. Its kind of mysterious, much like the character himself.
The first Game he appeared in was Sonic Adventure 2, which came out in 2001. Takashi Iizuka was the creator, and he is known as the ultimate life form. He can not die. But does he really live? Only you decide.
